Soprano Danielle Marie is an emerging young artist in the South Bay area of Northern California. Nothing is more fulfilling to Danielle than singing oratorio and sacred works.
She recently received her Master Degree s in Voice Performance at San Jose State University, studying under Professor Layna Chianakas. Prior voice instructors include Sandra Bengochea, Dr. Nicole Baker, and Mary Scheibe. Danielle received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education at California State University, Fullerton.
Danielle's recent performances include the soprano soloist in Orff's "Carmina Burana," and the soprano soloist in Mozart's "Vesperae Solennes de Confessore," both under the baton of Dr. Jeffrey Benson and Peninsula Cantare.
In April Danielle performed Faure's "Requiem" as the soprano soloist under the baton of Director Lou De La Rosa with West Valley College Concert Chorale and Winchester Orchestra.
Danielle also performed Schubert’s Mass in G as the soprano soloist under the direction of Director Michael Taylor and PCLG Chancel Choir.
Other major work solos include Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass" in Limerick, Ireland, Brahms’ Requiem, in Mission Santa Clara de Asis, and Mozart's "Requiem" in Mission Santa Clara de Asis, all under the baton of Dr. Benson.
Along with oratorio, Danielle is often engaged as a soloist to sing African American spirituals with different choirs around the Bay Area.
Danielle's other performances include a principal role of “Lady with a Cake Box” in Dominick Argento’s, “Postcard from Morocco,” the leading role of Eurydice in San Jose State Opera Theater's production of Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld" conducted by Michael Digiacinto and directed by Layna Chianakas, the soprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem directed by Michael Digiacinto and Dr. Jeffrey Benson, Michaela in an encore performance with San Jose Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestra Barbara Day Turner.
Performing as lead soprano with Bay Area caroling group, "The Mistletoe Singers" around the Bay Area is Danielle’s favorite winter pastime.
Currently Danielle is the soprano soloist and section leader for Peninsula Cantare under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Benson. Danielle is also the soprano soloist and section leader at the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, under the direction of Michael Taylor.
